NEW MEMBER INFORMATION
Have you served your Caucus yet? The best way to help shape and preserve this community is to join the Caucus. School Nominating Committee members find and select individuals to run for the School Board and for the New Trier Caucus. Village Nominating Committee members find and select individuals to run for the Village, Park and Library Boards. Those four Boards affect every aspect of Village life. Both caucuses need members.
You can be a member if you’re a registered voter in Glencoe who has not served on a caucus for at least two years and does not have a conflict of interest (such as membership on a board, a spouse with such membership, or plans to run for a board). The Caucus Plan gives more detailed information.
School Nominating Committee Applications can be downloaded from this site or picked up from Village Hall or the Library (>>...click here to download an application). They are due on February 17, 2012.
Village Nominating Committee Applications can be downloaded from this site or picked up from Village Hall or the Library (>>...click here to download an application). They are due on February 17, 2012.
Caucus member elections are done by mail ballot. Ballots and voting instructions will be bulk mailed to every household in Glencoe early in March 2012. The ballots will give the names and bios of the applicants. You must vote only for applicants in your own precinct. It is critical that you follow all of the instructions in order for your vote to be valid. Most common errors involve failing to properly complete the information required on the return envelope in order to verify that you are eligible to vote. Voting is confidential.
